Fly Southwest: BLI to Austin, Texas

Underneath an endless, cerulean sky, I stand, a wanderer, an adventurer bathed in the northern light of Bellingham, anticipating my journey south. I can't help but sense the melancholic yearning, the understandable, though irrational feeling some nostalgic pang for a place I haven't even left yet. Unlike Icarus, I would have the security of Southwest airlines beneath my wings, carrying me into the sun.

Surrendering myself to the romance of technology, I find an odd sense of comfort in presenting my passport to the air hostess, stepping onto the plane. There's a unique sound to an airplane, "Flights", they call it. A hum of promised journeys, of adventures yet had, and connections yet made. It overwhelms me, captivates me as I find myself in the throes of a new journey. Shaking off the remnants of my flight, I dive headfirst into my newest adventure. I became a frequent flyer, my Mileage program card a solemn testimony to my journey.

As the night rolls in and I recline in my warm hotel room, I look back at my journey. Reflecting on the brilliant juxtaposition of the frosty Bellingham morning and the warm Austin night, I can't help but marvel at the experience. I wouldn't trade this feeling of fulfilled travel for the world.
